Hey Baseball fans!
I’ve been very busy since Spring and a lot of it has to do with our favorite sport! Let me give you the run-down:
My cousin was married this past March in Las Cruces, NM. I live in Murrieta, CA and figured out that on my way to Cruces, I would be passing through the heart of MLB Spring Training in Arizona!
So with some careful planning, I would be able to visit CamelBack Ranch and catch a Dodgers game in a place I’d never been before! Very exciting!
There is some bad news, though. In the shuffle of memory cards and family computers and what not, my Spring Training pics were erased! There is a program that claims to restore lost photos. If it works, I’ll be sure to let you photographers know.
I’m still in NM now and for the past 3 months my Blackberry Style has replaced my PC (It is serving me well, btw). I plan on returning to my “office” in September so, keep your fingers crossed that my photos are still alive! In the meantime, I was able to catch a few flicks with my phone.
My first experience at CamelBack Ranch was a great one. Even despite the fact that the Dodgers played later in the evening in Peoria, I still enjoyed walking the peaceful complex and witnessing 2 simultaneous “rookie squad” games between the White Sox and Dodgers on the practice fields out back.
It felt like being at a Little League sports complex because of the multiple games going on but, especially because of how intimate the scene was. I could practically steal the Ump’s wallet! That’s how close! Juan Pierre even passed by in a golf cart. lol It was cool!
After a little rest, I found myself in the Peoria Sports Complex, Spring Training home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners. I can’t express how much I wish I had my photos to illustrate the beauty. My words can’t do it justice! It’s a beautiful baseball place.
I saw Ichiro Suzuki and Matt Kemp play ball, among others. This was also the day of the Charity Game between the Dodgers and DBacks in Tucson so not everybody was there. I had a nice time, nonetheless.
It was a short visit but it was a nice one. If you’ve never been to Spring Training in either AZ or FL and you call yourself a baseball fan, you owe to yourself to check it out. Its a brand new vibe compared to your regular season trips to the park. You won’t regret it!

Thanks for reading. Again, I apologize for the lack of pics. If we’re lucky, my mmc will be restored and I will update this post with more photos!
I’ve spent most of the season here in Las Cruces so, I’ve missed lots of Dodgers baseball but I have more pics and experiences to share with you! I’ve been to Apodaca Park and visited the San Antonio Missions minor league facility. Stay tuned!
Until next time.
